Austin College

Mark Hudson enters his second season at the helm of the men's soccer program in 2008. Hudson came to Austin College following a five year stint as the assistant coach at fellow SCAC member Centre College. Hudson, a 1999 graduate of Centre, helped lead the program to new heights that included a top ten national ranking and an overall record of 60-21-8. Hudson brings a solid defensive approach to Austin College after shaping Centre into one of the best defensive teams in the SCAC, including the top-ranked defense in 2006. Hudson also brings a unique approach to technical development that helped progress Centre into one of the top technically skilled teams in the country.

Much of Hudson's unique approach to technical development came from his time spent with the Arsenal Coaching Staff (London, England) leading up to their EPL fixture with rival Manchester United in 2004.

Prior to returning to his alma mater, Hudson spent a season at Washington and Lee University where the school won the regular season conference championship in one of the best seasons in school history. In addition, Hudson has coached on the club level in Kentucky and Colorado.

As a player, Hudson led Centre to some of its most successful seasons in school history. As a junior, Hudson captained the team to its first ever NCAA Tournament appearance; a feat that was repeated the following year in which the Colonels fell to defending national champion Wheaton College, the nations top-ranked team, in overtime.

Hudson holds a Bachelor of Arts from Centre College and is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Sports Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University's SportsCenter.  Hudson is USSF and NSCAA certified.
