Around the SCAC - January 24th

Men's Basketball - Week 11
As the schedule turns to the final month of the regular season going into the SCAC Tournament, Trinity (18-1, 9-1) continues to sit at the top of the standings followed closely by St. Thomas (16-3, 8-2) and Schreiner (12-7, 7-3). Last week Schreiner’s Kamden Ross produced his second 20-plus point and rebound effort of the season in a win over Texas Lutheran (4-15, 3-7). He is the first SCAC athlete to accomplish the feat since Millsaps’ Edrick Montgomery hit the mark in 2008 and Ross has produced two such performances this year. SCAC action gets back underway when Colorado College (10-7, 4-4) travels to Southwestern (1-18, 0-10), Dallas (7-11, 4-6) hosts Schreiner and Trinity takes on Austin College (8-10, 4-6) in Sherman. STANDINGS - SCHEDULE - STATISTICS

Player of the Week - Kamden Ross, Schreiner University
Kamden Ross of Schreiner University, a junior center from Cibolo, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, January 15 through Sunday, January 21. Full Release 


Women's Basketball - Week 11
Heading into the final month of the regular season in anticipation of the SCAC Tournament at the end of February, Trinity (14-5, 9-1) and Colorado College (13-4, 7-1) both remain tied in the loss collum with just one hiccup through the midway point. Texas Lutheran (14-5, 7-3) sits in third, while Schreiner (7-12, 6-4) round out the top four in the league standings to this point in the year. SCAC action returns on Friday as Schreiner visits Dallas (11-8, 5-5), Southwestern (4-15, 3-7) hosts Colorado College and Trinity faces off with Austin College (5-13, 4-6) in Sherman. STANDINGS - SCHEDULE - STATISTICS

Player of the Week - Lauren Traylor, Austin College 
Lauren Traylor of Austin College, a senior forward from Fort Collins, Colo., has been named the SCAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, January 15 through Sunday, January 21. Full Release


Swimming & Diving - Week 10 
Six programs dove in the pool last week as teams start to begin final preparations for the SCAC Championships set to kickoff in less than a month on Wednesday, February 14th. Colorado College hosted the Colorado College invite in which the women took home first and the men placed second out of seven squads. In a number of dual meets, Austin College defeated Centenary and Trinity took down Southwestern on both the men’s and women’s side, while Ozarks fell in a dual to non-conference foe Hendrix. Five programs are back in action again this week as St. Thomas takes on McMurry in a dual meet, Ozarks goes up against non-conference opponent Williams Baptist and Southwestern and Trinity take on UT-Permian Basin and Incarnate Word respectfully. MEN'S SCHEDULE - WOMEN'S SCHEDULE

Men's Swimmer of the Week - Jack Hussin, Colorado College
Jack Hussin of Colorado College, a junior from Phoenixville, Pa., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during meets swam Monday, January 15 to Sunday, January 21.  Full Release 

Men's Diver of the Week - Wyatt Wellehan, Colorado College
Wyatt Wellehan of Colorado College, a first-year from Winnetka, Ill., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Diver of the Week for performances the week of Monday, January 15 to Sunday, January 21. It is the second consecutive week he has received the honor. Full Release

Women's Swimmer of the Week - Alexis Lee, Colorado College
Alexis Lee of Austin College, a sophomore from Arlington, Va., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during meets swam Monday, January 15 to Sunday, January 21.  Full Release
