SEGUIN, Texas -- The postseason accolades continue to mount for junior shortstop Joe Jimenez, who was named ABCA/Rawlings Division-III Second Team All-America on Thursday.
Jimenez has now been named Third Team All-America by D3baseball.com and Second Team All-American from ABCA/Rawlings. A complete list of ABCA/Rawlings All-American Teams can be found here.
Along with his All-America honors, Jimenez has been named ABCA First Team All-Region 10, Region 10 Co-Position Player of the Year, D3baseball.com First Team All-Region, SCAC Player of the Year, and First Team All-SCAC.
A native of San Antonio, Texas, Jimenez finished the season ranked in the top five in the SCAC in slugging (.742), runs (31), home runs (15), RBI (67), and total bases (115). He also ranked in the top five in slugging (.650), hits (30), runs (24), home runs (5), doubles (7), and total bases (52) during league play.
His 15 homers are the fourth most in a single season in TLU Baseball program history. His 67 RBI in a season is the third most in program history. Jimenez currently sits in a tie with Johnny Briseno for fifth all-time with 26 career home runs.
Jimenez has appeared in 131 games in his career as a Bulldog and is a career .332 hitter with 163 hits. He's added 129 runs, 28 doubles, four triples, 26 homers and 147 RBI while turning in a .931 career fielding percentage.
