SUWANEE, Ga. – Trinity sophomore right-handed pitcher Jackson Teer was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for week five of the 2023 season.
Teer led Trinity’s 19th-ranked baseball team to a 3-0 weekend against Austin College to open SCAC action, including a pair of shutouts to start the series. Teer pitched a seven-inning no-hitter in a 10-0 game two victory, recording nine strikeouts and walking just one batter. After a second-inning walk that was the only thing that kept him from a perfect game, Teer retired 16 consecutive batters to close out the Tiger victory. Saturday marked the 12th no-hitter in school history and the first solo no-hitter since the 2017 season. Teer is 4-1 with a 2.76 ERA this season for the Tigers, recording 28 strikeouts in 29.1 innings of work.
Earlier this week, Teer was also named SCAC Pitcher of the Week.
The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its 12th season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors.
Teer is the fourth different SCAC athlete to earn national recognition this season, earlier this year, Centenary’s Tyler Herrera, St. Thomas’ Chris Parsons and Southwestern’s Maxwell Mims were all named to the inaugural D3baseball.com Team of the Week for 2023. Teer is the first Trinity athlete to earn D3Baseball.com Team of the Week honors since John Tucker earned the accolade back in February 2019.
