SUWANEE, Ga. – Texas Lutheran University catcher Holden Philippus and Schreiner University outfielder Aidan Warren were named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for performances the week of April 24-30.
Philippus, a senior, hit .667 (6-for-9) and scored five runs on the weekend including a home run to lead Texas Lutheran to sweep of Southwestern and regular season championship.
In a week where Warren hit for the cycle against the University of Dallas, he slashed .600/.667/1.467. Seven of the junior’s nine hits were of the extra base variety (three doubles, two triples, two home runs). He drove in nine and scored eight in four games.
The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its 12th season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors.
Philippus and Warren are the sixth and seventh different SCAC athletes to earn national recognition this season. Philippus is the first TLU athlete to land on the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week since former Bulldog Joe Jimenez earned the recognition in March of 2022, while Warren is the first Mountaineer to be honored nationally since Devin Hooper in February of 2020.
