SCAC Football Recap - Week Four

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The last week of non-conference play was a tough one as all four SCAC football teams were tagged with road losses.

Despite five touchdown passes from junior quarterback Zach Galindo, Texas Lutheran dropped a 48-38 decision at 12th-ranked Hardin-Simmons. Galindo completed 22 of 31 passes for 265 yards.

Trinity missed a potential game-winning 47-yard field goal as time expired and dropped a 19-17 road game against Chapman University.

Austin College grabbed a 17-14 lead with five minutes remaining against Southwestern Assemblies of God, but the Lions answered with a touchdown and then tacked on a last second safety to top the 'Roos 23-17 on Saturday night in Waxahachie.

Southwestern was unable to overcome three second-half turnovers, as Wisconsin-River Falls collected a 42-22 victory on Saturday afternoon in River Falls, Wisc. Senior receiver Matt Gillen caught 14 passes for 153 yards to pace the Pirates' attack. It is the second consecutive year Gillen has had a 14-reception game against UW-River Falls.
