SCAC Has 15 Named to the 2009 Longstreth/NFHCA DIII All-Region Team
CHANDLER, Ariz. - Led by First Team selections Caroline Carlin of Sewanee, Meghan Cullen of Rhodes, Sally Faulkner of Centre, Lindsey Gurkovich of Rhodes, Alyssa Havens of Hendrix, Sarah Riffle of DePauw, Becca Rojek of DePauw and Charlie Wagner of Rhodes the SCAC had 15 selected to the 2009 Longstreth/NFHCA DIII Great Lakes All Region Team.

SCAC Announces 2009 All-Conference Field Hockey Team
SUWANEE, Ga. – DePauw University’s Sarah Riffle became the first player in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference history to earn back-to-back Player of the Year awards as the senior forward was tabbed as SCAC Offensive Player-of-the-Year in exclusive voting by the league’s head field hockey coaches. In that same voting, Sally Faulkner of Centre College and Alyssa Havens of Hendrix College were named the league’s Defensive Co-Players-of-the-Year.

Rhodes wins SCAC Field Hockey Championship
CONWAY, Ark. - Rhodes College withstood a game-tying goal by DePauw University with no time remaining in regulation and answered with a game-winning goal by junior Lindsey Gurkovich in overtime to take the 2009 SCAC Field Hockey title Sunday afternoon on the campus of Hendrix College.

Rhodes and DePauw advance to SCAC Field Hockey title game
CONWAY, Ark. - Top-seeded Rhodes College and third-seeded DePauw University advanced to the 2009 SCAC Field Hockey title game with semifinal wins on Saturday afternoon. Rhodes defeated Sewanee 2-1 in overtime while DePauw cruised to a 2-0 victory over Centre.

Sewanee gets late goal to defeat Hendrix 1-0 in SCAC Field Hockey tourney opener
CONWAY, Ark. - Sewanee-The University of the South faced host Hendrix College in the first round of the 2009 SCAC Championships today and after 67 scoreless minutes, senior Clare Ashburn scored off of a Carly Grimm assist to give the fifth-seeded Tigers a 1-0 victory.

SCAC releases 2009 Field Hockey Tournament Bracket
SUWANEE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference released the seeds and bracket for the 2009 Field Hockey Championship Tournament this afternoon. Hendrix College, in Conway, Ark., will host the tournament taking place November 6-8.

SUWANEE, Ga. - Sewanee and Rhodes both picked up a pair of wins in non-conference action over the weekend. Centre remained atop the conference standings after taking a week off from action. This weekend the SCAC will return to conference action as Centre will travel to Rhodes and Hendrix.

SUWANEE, Ga. - It was opening weekend of SCAC Field Hockey with all five teams in action. Centre picked up two wins beating DePauw 1-0 and Sewanee 3-0. Rhodes traveled to Conway, Ark. and faced Hendrix picking up the win 3-0. This week the SCAC takes a break from conference action setting up for a number of tough non-conference tilts.
