Meghan Cullen, Rhodes College, Field Hockey (Defensive)

MEGHAN CULLEN
OF RHODES COLLEGE, a junior goalkeeper from Chapel
Hill, N.C., has been selected the SCAC Field Hockey Defensive
Player-of-the-Week for matches played Friday, August 29 through
Sunday, August 31.
Cullen's play was outstanding in the Bellarmine
match as she recorded 10 saves to preserve the 1-0 shutout. In the
6-0 blanking of Earlham, Cullen thwarted several
dangerous moments to hang on to the shutout - including making a
diving stick save to play a dangerous shot out of bounds.
On the weekend, Cullen recorded a total of 13
saves and did not allow a goal as the Lynx remained the only team
in conference with a clean slate in terms of goals allowed on the
season.
