Sally Faulkner, Centre College, Field Hockey (Defensive)

SALLY FAULKNER OF CENTRE COLLEGE,a junior back from Louisville Ky., has been selected as the SCAC Field Hockey Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played Monday, September 8 through Sunday, September 14.

Faulkner led the Centre College defense to two shutout wins this past weekend over Hendrix College and Denison University, allowing both opponents a combined five shots on goal the entire weekend.

Faulkner's play was skillful and tactically savvy as she made numerous open field tackles and worked with senior backs Emily Boyle, Sarah Scheer, sophomore Sarah Humphries, and freshmen Jennifer Bohnert and Patty Cowley (in goal) to record their second and third consecutive shutouts.
