Patty Cowley, Centre College, Field Hockey (Defensive)

PATTY COWLEY OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a freshman goalkeeper from Louisville Ky., has been selected as the SCAC Field Hockey Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played Monday, September 22 through Sunday, September 28.

Cowley recorded her fourth consecutive shutout against Transylvania University and made some key saves in the Colonels come-from-behind victory over DePauw University to win her seventh and eighth games of the season this past week. 

Cowley's presence was certainly felt as she made a number of remarkable saves late in the games to extend the matches to overtime, where Centre eventually pulled them out. 

Cowley's performance helped Centre reclaim the top of the table after a very competitive weekend of SCAC play.
