SEWANEE, Tenn. - After trailing 23-16 at the half,
Sewanee rallied on Birmingham-Southern, getting the 57-52 comeback
men's basketball win Friday night in Juhan Gym. Friday's win marked
the 100th career win as a college head coach for Sewanee's Bubba Smith.
Smith is wrapping up his first season on the Mountain and came to
Sewanee from Hampden-Sydney. His overall career record as a head
coach is 100-62 (.617). BOX

Pursell's (Franklin, Tenn., BGA) double-double of 16 points and
16 rebounds (14 defensive) and Bradley
Pierson's (Rome, Ga., Darlington)15 points fueled the Sewanee
scoring drive on the night. Aaron Parr led the Panthers with 11
points. Sewanee's 73% accuracy in the second half was the final
nail in the coffin for the Panthers, including Sewanee's 5-7 mark
from behind the three-point line.
Sewanee moves to 6-16 and will face Rhodes on Sunday. BSC falls to
10-12 with the loss and will face Oglethorpe on Sunday.
