Trinity's McGinlay Becomes Fastest in NCAA History to 500 Career Wins

SAN ANTONIO, Texas –
 Trinity University Head Coach Paul McGinlay won his 500th career game as the Tiger men's soccer team earned a 4-0 shutout over Texas Lutheran University on Friday night.

Trinity improved its record to 3-2-2 with the victory, while Texas Lutheran dropped to 5-3-0 overall on the year. Click here for a complete game recap.

Coach McGinlay is the ninth Division III coach to reach 500 wins in a career and the 16th men's soccer coach in any NCAA division to achieve the milestone. He is the winningest coach in SCAC history in the categories of overall winning percentage (.814), conference winning percentage (.926) and total conference wins (240). Among those who have coached in the SCAC, his 500 total career wins trails only Horst Richardson, who accumulated 567 wins in his 49-year career at Colorado College.

McGinlay is also the fastest in NCAA history to 500 victories, achieving the feat in his 29th season with the program and picking up the milestone in his 614th career game.
