SCAC Announces Men's Soccer Tournament Bracket

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- The seeds and pairings are now set for the 2021 SCAC Men’s Soccer Tournament following the completion of the regular season schedule on Sunday, October 31st. Regular season champion and third-ranked Trinity University earned the top seed to next weekend’s even with an 7-0-1 conference mark and 22 total points to sit alone at the top of the table. The Tigers secured the program’s sixth regular season title since the league began recognizing regular season champions in 2014 after defeating Colorado College on the road last Friday night, 2-1. Trinity, who has captured an SCAC record seventh Tournament Titles, will be in search of its first since 2018.

University of St. Thomas secured the second seed after victories over Dallas (5-1) and Austin College (4-0), respectively, this weekend to finish with 20 points following a 6-0-2 conference mark. The 2020-21 SCAC Tournament Runner-Up, St. Thomas enters the 2021 Tournament looking for its first crown riding a seven-match unbeaten streak.

Southwestern University locked up the three seed in dramatic fashion Friday night, knocking off Texas Lutheran in overtime to secure three massive points and a spot in the SCAC Tournament. The Pirates finished the year with 17 points, powered by a 5-1-2 league record with a three-game winning streak and five-match unbeaten streak. Southwestern will be looking to return to the SCAC Tournament final for the first time since 2018 and fourth time overall.

Rounding out the field in the 2021 SCAC Tournament is the fourth-seeded Colorado College Tigers. CC earned the four seed after defeating Schreiner, 6-0, on Sunday and finishing with 16 points with a 5-2-1 league mark. Colorado College has advanced to the SCAC Tournament final four times in program history, most recently falling to TLU in the 2019 championship.

Texas Lutheran University will serve as host of this year’s event, which is scheduled to open on Friday, November 5th at 5 p.m. CT when No. 1 Trinity takes on No. 4 Colorado College in the opening semifinal fixture. The second semifinal is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT between No. 2 St. Thomas and No. 3 Southwestern. The two semifinal winners will meet on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT.
