Trinity Men Atop the Standings After Day One of the SCAC Swimming & Diving Championship

LEWISVILLE, Texas -- After splitting the top spots in a pair of relays Wednesday night with Southwestern University, Trinity University's men are atop the team standings through the first day of competition. Official Website | Wednesday's Complete Results | Team Scores

Trinity University currently leads the pack with 110 points, while Southwestern is close behind with 102. Centenary and Colorado College are in third and fourth, respectively, with 86 and 70 points. Rounding out the group is Austin College with 68 points and McMurry with 52.

The 200 medley relay team of Michael Glover, Mickey Scharbrough, Simmon Belaineh and Matt Sluss finished in a time of 1:32.96 - improving on their 2015 relay time by more than half a second. This time ranks as the second-fastest time in SCAC Championship history.

Trinity's relay team came in just short, finishing .02 seconds behind the Pirates at 1:32.98 for second place. Their time ranks as the third-fastest in SCAC Championship history. Colorado College rounded out the medal-winners with a time of 1:36.96.

In the 800 freestyle relay, Trinity's men came out on top, finishing with a time of 6:56.11, more than seven seconds ahead of the Southwestern group (7:03.27). Making up the Trinity team was Gordon Allan, Andrew Thiesse, Nate Borchers and Spencer Adickes.

Centenary College took third in the event, posting a time of 7:12.93.
