LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's swimming continued last week with four teams competing, including Trinity University hosting Southwestern and four other squads at the TU Tiger Invitational.

The Trinity men finished behind Division II teams Oklahoma Christian University and Henderson State (Ark.) University, compiling 575.5 points to finish third. Beau Tipton won the men's 200-yard butterfly with a "B" Cut finish of 1:48.54. The time was just 0.05 seconds off his school record, and is one of the top times in the NCAA Division III. Spencer Steward was runner-up in the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 2:05.74 for a time that is one second off a "B" Cut mark. Matt Lanzara placed third in the 200-yard backstroke. 

Anthony Liva finished second in the men's 3-meter diving with an NCAA mark of 335.40. Liva picked up his first qualifying score of the season.

The Southwestern posted a team score of 239.5 to place sixth at the Tiger Invitational. The 400-yard freestyle relay came in fifth place with a time of 3:08.30 with Sam Anderson as the first leg, Keith Gill as second, Caleb Pfiefer as the third and Todd Coachman as the final leg. Anderson also did well in the 200-yard breaststroke by finishing in fourth place with a time of 2:07.96 with Alek Argueta right behind him to grab fifth place with a time of 2:09.24.

The Colorado College men finished with 345 points, good for sixth place among 10 teams at the Phoenix Fall Classic in Chicago, Ill. Sophomore Cade Thumann posted a pair of top-10 finishes during the weekend. He touched the wall in eighth place in the 500 freestyle and 10th in the 1650 freestyle. Junior Walker Martin finished seventh in the 200 freestyle, while sophomore Cole Thumann was ninth in the 400 IM. Those two joined senior Eric Dallesasse and freshman Topher Shepherd to place sixth in the meet-closing 400 freestyle relay race.
 
Reigning SCAC Diver of the Week Mac O'Brien put together another impressive weekend of diving. The freshman finished second in the 3-meter event with 296.05 points and third in the 1-meter with 283.20 points.

The University of the Ozarks men posted an impressive 163-86 win over Williams Baptist University Friday night behind numerous personal and program-best times. Three swimmers broke program records during the dual - Michael Walkine (50 breast, 28.31), Josh Collins (200 fly, 2:06.39 and 50 fly, 24.36) and Nicolai Van Zyl (200 breast, 2:19.49). Other first-place finishes for the Eagles included Jacob Jones in the 50 free (22.17), the 500 free (5:01.02) and the 1650 free (17:28.49), Van Zyl in the 200 free (1:52.95) and Collins in the 100 free (48.82).

In relay action, Collins, Walkine, Van Zyl and Jones teamed up for a first-place finish in the 200 free relay (1:30.60), and Jones, Walkine, Collins and Van Zyl won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:41.01.
