TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released the 2024 All-Academic Teams and Scholar Athletes on Wednesday and seven Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference programs, and 63 student-athletes were recognized.
Colorado College, Southwestern University and Trinity University were all recognized as All-Academic teams on both the men's and women's side, while the Schreiner University men’s program was also honored.
Individually, Colorado College paced all SCAC honorees with 31, followed by Trinity with 17, Schreiner with 13, Southwestern with 11 and Texas Lutheran University rounded out the impressive list of 63 total individuals with one.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year (including fall 2023 and spring 2024) and must be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) and 3.) be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
