KENTO IWAHARA AND PERRY GUIDRY OF UNIVERSITY OF THE OZARKS, have been named the SCAC Men’s Doubles Team of the Week for matches played from Monday, February 3 through Sunday, February 9. SCAC Men's Tennis Weekly Report - Week 2
Iwahara, a junior from Fukuoka, Japan, and Guidry, a junior from Lafayette, La., posted a 2-0 record over the weekend in competition against Dallas Baptist University and John Brown University. Against DBU, the No. 1 duo had a 6-4 victory and then followed that with another 6-4 win against the team from JBU. The wins improved their record to 3-0 this season.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Graduate student Hunter Green and sophomore Jake Riggs of Concordia (Texas), in the duo's only match of the week, earned a 6-0 victory on line two as they helped the Tornados to a 7-0 conference victory over Austin College. Junior Conor Kaczmarzyk and sophomore Ethan Flores of Trinity led the 11th-ranked men's tennis team to a 7-0 road win over Hardin-Simmons University on Friday. The duo got the team started by clinching the doubles point with a 6-1 win at line three doubles, which proved critical after the Cowboys won the final doubles match on the court. First-year Sawyer White and senior Hunter Kemball-Cook of St. Thomas delivered a confident 6-4 win in their doubles match at the No. 3 line over their opponents from LeTourneau.
