GENEVA, Ohio -- The Texas Lutheran University men's 4x100 meter relay posted the fourth best time of the day to advance to the event final on Saturday at the 2017 NCAA Men's Track & Field Championships.
The Bulldogs relay team is made up of juniors Marquis Brown Bryce Johnson and freshmen Paris Foster and Darren Jones. The team finished third in their heat, posting a time of 41.20 second.
In other TLU action on Thursday, Brown missed out on the 200 final by .001. He finished 10th-fastest out of 20 competitors. Brown clocked a time of 21.579. The final 200 qualifier, Matt Fleming of Benedictine, posted a time of 21.578.
Trinity University's Matt Love also competed, registering a mark of 46.23 meters in the discus, and finishing in 11th place. He entered as the eighth seed, with a throw of 51.52 meters. Last year, Love placed 14th at the NCAA Championships.
Friday's action will include performances from Trinity's Cody Hall in the 110 Meter Hurdles, alongside TLU's Brown and Johnson in the 400 and the 100, respectively.
