Bryce McIntyre, University of St. Thomas, Men's Track Athlete of the Week (Week 1)

BRYCE MCINTYRE OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a senior from Houston, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, February 26 through Sunday, March 3. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 1

McIntyre showcased his speed at the Trinity Invitational this past weekend, taking third overall in the 400 meters in a time of 49.57. He also competed in the 200 meters, finishing fourth with a time of 21.87.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year Walt Petersen of Trinity won the men's 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.06 at the Trinity Invitational over the weekend. His new PR time is also the fifth-fastest in Tiger track & field history. Sophomore Justin Britton of Schreiner competed in the 100 meters, finishing with a time of 11.25. He also ran the 200 meters in a time of 23.14, and was part of the Mountaineers' 4x400 relay, which set a new school record (3:35.84) in the event. Senior Bryce Powell-Chimene of Texas Lutheran ran a 48.63 in the 400 meters at the Trinity Invitational to win the event. He was also on the 4x100 relay that finished third. Freshman Bryan Washington of Centenary ran the sixth-fastest time this season in the conference in the 200 meters (22.89) on Saturday to finish in 31st place in the Mississippi College Spring Cleaning Classic - the Gents' season-opening meet.
