Centre men win South/Southeast Regional

SEGUIN, Texas - Two weeks after capturing the SCAC
cross-country title the Centre College men's cross-country team
finished in first place at the NCAA Regional meet held at Texas
Lutheran University. The Colonels are now qualified for the NCAA
Championship meet at Hanover College on Nov. 22.
The Colonels finished in first place at the meet out of 19 schools with a total of 56 points. Second place Emory University finished with 73 total points. Other SCAC teams at the meet included Rhodes College (4th place), Trinity University (7th place), Sewanee-University of the South (14th place), Southwestern University (15th place) and Hendrix College (16th place).
Centre was led Saturday by overall first-place finisher senior Chase Wilson, the SCAC Runner-of-the-year, finished first out of a 152 runners with a time of 25:23.07. The Colonels also placed three more runners in the top 11. Senior Joey Polio, freshmen Willie Polio and junior Jason Parks finished ninth, 10th, and 11th respectively overall.

In the Great Lakes Regional, the DePauw University men finished
11th out of 34 teams.

In the West Regional, behind a top 10 finish from SCAC

finished seventh out of 15 teams.
