LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Five of the eight SCAC men's cross country teams were in action this past weekend.
Centenary
College
The Centenary Gents competed at the Mook 5 Invitational in Ruston,
La., finishing fifth on the day. Andrew Borel paced the Gents
with a time of 20:19.70 to finish 33rd overall. Demri Robinson
placed second among the Gents with a 35th overall finished and a
time of 20:40.60 while Kellen Bullock was one spot back of Robinson
with a time of 21:10.20. The Gents will compete next weekend at the
Ken Garland Invitational in Denton, Texas.
Colorado
College
On a beautiful morning in the Pikes Peak region, the
Colorado College men's cross country team posted a fourth-place
finish Saturday at the 2014 CC Invitational in North Monument
Valley Park. Senior Graham Frank led the Tigers
with a 16th place finish among the collegiate runners with a 6k
time of 27 minutes and 29 seconds. Junior Tucker
Hampson followed in 17th place with a time of
28:43, 22 seconds faster than his time in this race last year.
Sophomore Conor Terhune posted a 29:07, good for
a 20th place finish. The Tigers run at the Oklahoma
State Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla., next
Saturday.
University of
Dallas
The University of Dallas Men's cross country team
placed sixth in the East Texas Invite last weekend. Pacing the
Crusader's with a time of 28:20.1 was junior Ryan
McAnany (Kansas City, Kan.). His total ranked him 10th, the
second time this campaign the runner cracked top ten in a
competition. Fellow classmate Javier Secaira (Tacoma,
Wash.) placed not far behind in 12th with a time of 28:33.8
minutes. Dallas competes in the Wisconsin Lutheran
College Warrior Invite on Oct. 4th. Location is set to be in West
Allis, Wisconsin.
Texas Lutheran University
The Texas Lutheran men's cross country teams finsihed in sxith
place of the non-Division I category at the UTSA Ricardo Romo
Classic this past weekend. TLU Men's Cross Country scored 156
total points. The Bulldogs were led by Travis Koenig, who completed
the 5,000-meter race in 17 minutes, 44 seconds. Koenig was 20th
among non-DI runners. Donald Manuszewski and Bond
Birkner crossed in second and third places for TLU with times
of 18:12 and 18:25, respectively. The TLU men will be in action
next weekend as they travel to Boston, Mass. for the Codfish
Bowl.
Trinity University
The Tiger men finished as runners-up with 59 points at
the UTSA/Ricardo Romo Classic. Junior Taylor Piske led
the Tiger men’s squad with an eighth-place finish in the
5,000-meters race, clocking in at 16:22.2. Sophomore Austin Brown
placed 15th (16:48.1), while sophomore Tristan Ashton was 17th
(16:57.7). Trinity’s teams will compete October 4
at the Chile Pepper Invitational at Fayetteville,
Arkansas.
Austin College, Schreiner, and Southwestern did not compete this weekend.
