SCAC Softball Recap - Week Eight

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Conference play continued for four Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference teams last week, while the teams combined for a 2-2 record in non-conference games.

The second-ranked Texas Lutheran University had a dominant weekend, moving to 23-1 on the season and 8-0 in league action after a four-game sweep of Trinity University. The Bulldogs' week was highlighted by a pair of no-hitters from senior Maitlin Raycroft. In the series, TLU outscored the Tigers 28-4, with three of the four wins being shutouts. Trinity falls to 11-13 after the weekend, now 4-8 in SCAC play.

Schreiner University picked up three wins last week to earn the series win over Centenary College. The Mountaineers are now second in the league with a 9-3 conference record, moving to 18-7-1 overall. In the series, Centenary picked up a win in the first game, defeating SU 8-1. Schreiner bounced back to win the next three, giving up just four more runs the rest of the series, while scoring 20.

In non-conference action last week, Schreiner went 1-1 against the University of Houston - Victoria, while Dallas went 1-1 against McMurry University.
