
DESTINEE DAVIS OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a freshman outfielder from Katy, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Offensive Co-Player of the Week for games played Monday, April 4th through Sunday, April 10th.
Davis had an outstanding weekend for the Tiger softball team, leading Trinity to a four-game SCAC series sweep against Austin College. Davis hit a stellar .714 (5-7) for the week, scoring three runs and collecting six RBI. She had four doubles among her five hits for a slugging percentage of 1.286 for the week.
Davis started in two of the four games over the weekend, but played in all four. She came off the bench and was 1-2 with a double and one RBI on the first day of action, then took full advantage of being inserted as a starter on Sunday. She went 4-5 with three runs and four RBI in the two games, hitting three doubles among her four hits.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman pitcher Kat Wright of Austin College had a strong weekend at the plate, batting .538 with a .923 slugging percentage in four games. Senior infielder Stacy Rosengren of Southwestern posted a .417 series batting average against the #3 team in the nation, TLU, with one double and one triple. Freshman outfielder Marisa Trevino of Trinity hit .667 (4-6) in the two games, picking up three runs and one RBI for the Tigers. Junior outfielder Allison Kotlar of Dallas posted a hit in all four games this past weekend series at Austin College.
