AMANDA LOCHTE OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior pitcher from Odem, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played Monday, February 29th through Sunday March 6th.
Lochte took perfect games into the fifth innings of both of her starts this week. Lochte finished each start with complete-game shutouts. She had a three-hit shutout against Staten Island and a two-hit shutout against Calumet College at St. Joseph. Lochte struck out nine and did not walk a batter as the Bulldogs' completed a pair of doubleheader sweeps and remained undefeated in 2016.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior pitcher Kaci Wellik of Trinity University finished with a 0.41 ERA and a 2-1 record over the past week, nabbing a pair of wins over the weekend against the Pirates.
