MAITLIN RAYCROFT OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior pitcher from Spring, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played through February 19th.
Raycroft posted two wins over the weekend and tossed the 15th no-hitter in Texas Lutheran Softball history with an 18-strikeout performance against Huntingdon.
Raycroft's 18 Ks in a single-game are the third-most for a game in SCAC history. Raycroft allowed one run over her last 14 innings.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior pitcher Katie Castillon of Trinity University was saddled with a hard-luck loss in the season opener against Mary Hardin-Baylor, allowing four runs on seven hits in the complete-game effort, though just one of the runs was earned. Castillon also struck out four batters in the season debut for the Tigers.
