ATLANTA, Ga. - The Oglethorpe University Stormy Petrels defeated the Greensboro College Pride on Pinholster Court in Atlanta in NCAA Division III Womens Basketball Second Round action on Saturday night, 67-40. The Pride were done in by an Oglethorpe defense that forced 28 turnovers and held them to a dismal 16 of 78 (20.5%) shooting performance.

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Oglethorpe University Stormy Petrels defeated the Maryville (Tenn.) College Scots on Pinholster Court Friday night in NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Round One action, 68-65. Senior Anna Findley buried a 3-pointer for Oglethorpe with less than a minute remaining to provide the final margin and lift the Petrels to the win.

SUWANEE, Ga. - It was the final weekend of cross divisional play in the SCAC and the Eastern Division took full advantage of being at home this weekend. The home teams won every game this past weekend finishing with a perfect 12-0 record. By picking up two wins a piece over the weekend Centre, DePauw and Oglethorpe all clinched a spot in Conway, Ark. for the 2009 SCAC Tournament at the end of February.

SUWANEE, Ga. - #5 Oglethorpe University hit the road for the second SCAC cross divisional weekend as the Eastern Division headed west for SCAC action. The Petrels won Friday evening against Southwestern, however Sunday it was the Tigers of Trinity that handed Oglethorpe it's first loss in conference play with an 85-72 win in San Antonio.

SUWANEE, Ga. - After the first weekend of three cross divisional weekends of SCAC basketball action, Oglethorpe remains the only unbeaten team in conference play. It was the Eastern division who turned up roses after the first cross divisional weekend with a record of 8-4 against the Western division. The Eastern division did benefit as they all stayed at home, shaping up for an exciting second weekend of cross divisional play this coming weekend as it will be the Eastern division who hits the road.

SUWANEE, Ga. - With the first full weekend of conference play in the books, Oglethorpe and Trinity University have jumped out to an early 2-0 record in conference play. Oglethorpe defeated #23 DePauw Friday night 84-81 and then turned around Sunday afternoon to defeat Centre 83-67. Trinity took down the Tigers of Colorado College on the road Friday 70-65 then traveled to Austin College and picked up a 77-71 victory.
