LAUREN AVANT
OF RHODES COLLEGE, a sophomore
guard from Memphis, Tenn., has been named SCAC Basketball
Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, January 30 through
Sunday, February 5.
Avant matched her career high with 21 points in the Lynx
69-52 win over Birmingham Southern to push their winning streak to
a season high eight games as the Lynx went 2-0 for the weekend.
Since Avant has entered the Lynx lineup, Rhodes is
9-1 in the 10 games she has played. In the Lynx 73-47 win over
Oglethorpe, Avant had 12 points, grabbed four
rebounds and had three steals in 14 minutes of action.
For the weekend Avant averaged 16.5
points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and three steals per game off the
bench, playing in a total of 39 minutes for the weekend.
