SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. - Senior women's golfer Mirel Brackin, the
lone Millsaps College representative last weekend at the Santa Rosa
Beach Fall Invitational, fired an opening-day career-low round of
79 and went on to finish second place overall. Final

Played at the par 72, 5,803 yard Santa Rosa Beach Golf
Club, Day 2 of the tournament was washed out and had to
go to the scorecard, where Spring Hill's Victoria Gonzalez and
Millsaps' Brackin tied for the individual championship.
Gonzalez would take first place after going to the scorecard.
The round of 79 (41, 38) for Brackin was her first time to
ever break 80, bettering her previous low round of 88 in which
she fired four times prior. In addition, the round of 79 is
also the lowest round shot by a Millsaps player in over two
decades.
Spring Hill College won the event with a combined 332,
while Birmingham-Southern (337), Huntingdon
College (369), Rhodes College (371), Faulkner (398)
and Sewanee (461) rounded out the finishers.
