ERIN FLYNN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from League City, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Wednesday, October 4 through Tuesday, October 10. SCAC Golf Release (Week 4)
Flynn started the Alamo Classic by tying her career-low with a 71-stroke round. Then, in Tuesday's second round, she crushed her personal best by four strokes, firing a 67, to bring her total to 138 (-4) and a first-place overall finish. This marks the first tournament win of her career, and her 67-stroke round sets a new school record for Trinity since 2016.
Flynn was the only player to finish the event under par.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Ryleigh Erickson of Southwestern shot rounds of 72 and 74 to pace the Pirates and finish at 146 (+4), good for a third-place individual finish at the Alamo Classic at The Quarry Golf Club. Junior Emma Luna of St. Thomas led the Celts at the Alamo Classic, finishing the two-day event with a total of 153 (+11), good for a tie for 10th place on the individual leaderboard. Senior Audrey Garza of Texas Lutheran paced the Bulldogs at the Alamo Classic, finishing with rounds of 82 and 78 for a total of 160 (+18) and top 20 finish.
