Natalie Slade, Colorado College, Defensive Player of the Week (Week 6)

NATALIE SLADE OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a sophomore goalkeeper from Concord, Mass., has been named the SCAC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 5 through Sunday, April 11.

Slade made a career-high 15 saves, including five on free-position shots, to lead the Colorado College women's lacrosse team to a 10-7 victory over Colorado State University Pueblo on Wednesday. After the ThunderWolves trimmed CC's lead to 9-6, Slade stopped five shots during a five-minute span. After CSUP took a 2-1 lead 8:43 into the contest, Slade and the CC defense clamped down and allowed just five goals during the final 51 minutes. The Tigers held the ThunderWolves to nearly half of their season average of 13.20 goals per game. During Saturday's 23-10 victory at Southwestern, Slade made five of her with saves in the second half when Colorado College outscored the Pirates 12-2. In Sunday's 18-2 win at the University of Dallas, Slade did not face a shot during 30 minutes of action during the first half.

For the week, Slade posted a 3-0 record, a 6.80 goals-against average and a .564 saves percentage. She also lowered her season GAA from 17.45 to 10.78.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year goalkeeper Kathleen Rodda of Dallas had 14 saves as the Crusaders dropped their lone match of the week to Colorado College.
