The SCAC has not conducted a postseason women's soccer tournament since 1992.

Third-ranked Trinity University (8-0-0 SCAC; 18-0-0 overall), who wrapped up its 15th undefeated conference season and third undefeated regular season in the SCAC era with a 1-0 overtime win over the University of Dallas on Sunday, is the tournament's top seed and will receive a first-round bye into Saturday's semifinal round.

Tournament host Birmingham-Southern College (6-1-1 SCAC; 10-4-2 overall) earned the tournament's other bye after dueling 22nd-ranked Centre College to a 0-0 double overtime tie on Sunday.

Rhodes College (4-3-1; 9-6-2) and Hendrix College (4-3-1; 8-8-1) will open play on Friday in a battle of the fourth and fifth seeds. Rhodes will be the fourth seed because of its head-to-head win over Hendrix on Oct. 2.
