Three Trinity Women Named United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Americans

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Three members of the Trinity University women's soccer team have earned distinction as United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Americans following the 2022 season. Complete Release 

Seniors Molly Sheridan and Bailey Meyer were both First Team selections, while junior Kyra Stafford made the Third Team. All three Tigers were also Scholar All-Region honorees. This is the second time Meyer has received the academic honors from the United Soccer Coaches, while Sheridan and Stafford pick up the awards for the first time.

Meyer led a Trinity defense that allowed just four goals in 24 games this season, posting the best goals-against average (0.165) in NCAA III this year. She won the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year award for the second consecutive season and was also a First Team All-Region and All-America selection for the second straight year. Additionally, Meyer earned Academic All-District and Academic All-American awards from College Sports Communicators this season.

Sheridan was the SCAC Offensive Player of the Year, scoring a career-high 19 goals this season and moving into the top 10 in school history in both career points (121) and career goals (48). She was also a United Soccer Coaches First Team All-Region and First Team All-American player this season and joined Meyer as an Academic All-District honoree.

Stafford also earned United Soccer Coaches First Team All-Region and First Team All-SCAC accolades after pacing Trinity with 11 assists this season. In addition to her academic awards from the United Soccer Coaches, she was also an Academic All-District selection this year.

Trinity is led by Head Coach Dylan Harrison, who completed his seventh season with a 21-1-2 overall record. The Tigers won the SCAC Championship to qualify for the NCAA III Playoffs, advancing to the Third Round before taking its first loss of the season in a 1-0 defeat to Christopher Newport University.
