LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's tennis teams began the spring season last weekend.
After falling 3-6 to regionally-ranked Hardin-Simmons University, the Schreiner University women didn't give up a single set point in four matches over the weekend. The Mountaineers defeated Sul Ross State University and Centenary College on Friday, and the University of Ozarks and Howard Payne on Saturday, all by 9-0 scores.
Southwestern University went 2-0 on the weekend, defeating Austin College, 7-2, and the University of Texas Dallas, 9-0, on the road.
Texas Lutheran was 1-2 this weekend, defeating Concordia University 8-1, but falling 4-5 to Hardin-Simmons and 2-7 to No. 23 University of La Verne.
No. 33 Trinity University split the weekend on the road, defeating No. 22 Whitman University, 5-4, and No. 35 Linfield University, 7-2, but falling to No. 29 Lewis & Clark, 4-5, and No. 18 University of Redlands, 2-5.
