ROME, Ga. -- The Trinity women's tennis All-American doubles duo of junior Cate Cushing and first-year Trinity Levy finished off their part at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Cup on Friday.
The Tiger doubles team dropped the opening set of the day against Samantha Fuchs and Clare Palen of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire 4-6, then rallied with a 6-2 win to force a third-set tiebreaker. Fuchs/Palen prevailed 10-4 to advance in the consolation round.
Later in the afternoon, Cushing/Levy faced off against Devon Wolfe and Alisha Chulani of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges. The Tiger duo ended their weekend with a 6-1, 6-3 loss.
On Thursday, and after inclement weather forced delays throughout the day, Cushing and Levy faced the fourth-seeded doubles team of Brooke Despriet and Katherine Petty of University of the South and fell in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.
