EBONEE NATION OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a first-year from Corpus Christi, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, March 27 through Sunday, April 2. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 5

Nation clocked a personal best in the 100-meters last weekend at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational. She finished 34th in a strong field of competition, breaking the line in 14.92. Her time is currently tops in the SCAC and fourth in the entire West Region.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Rachel Chiella of Southwestern broke the Pirates program record for the second time this season in the 3,000-meter steeplechase last weekend at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational. She broke the 12-minute mark, crossing the line in 11:59.68, currently the second fastest time in the SCAC. First-year Emily Gnecco of Trinity posted a pair of personal bests last weekend at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational. She finished 14th in the 800-meters with a time of 2:23.38 and her time of 4:54.91 in the 1,500-meters was good enough for 20th. Both times are currently fifth in the SCAC.
