Colorado College; Southwestern and Trinity Headed to NCAA Volleyball Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The NCAA Division III
Women's Volleyball Committee announced Sunday the field of 61 teams
for the 2008 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship.

Colorado College, Southwestern University and Trinity University
made the field, marking the third consecutive year that the league
has sent three or more teams to the tournament.
Trinity University (30-9) received the league's automatic bid to
the NCAA tournament after winning the SCAC championship with a 3-0
victory over DePauw University.
The Tigers will serve as host school for the regional - one of
eight regional sites - with play beginning on Thursday, Nov.
13.
Southwestern University (34-4) and Colorado College
(26-11) were selected as at-large participants. Southwestern
defeated Colorado College in the third/fourth place match on
Saturday at the SCAC Volleyball Tournament.
Colorado College, which is making its 11th consecutive NCAA
Tournament appearance, plays Christopher-Newport (33-6),
winners of the USA-South Conference, in Thursday's 2 p.m. opening
round match.
Southwestern plays Texas-Dallas (24-7), winners of the American
Southwest Conference, at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. This marks the
fourth consecutive year that the Pirates have made an
appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
In Thursday's final match at 7 p.m., Trinity takes on Webster
(Mo.), which earned the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference's automatic bid.
Trinity won its 11th straight SCAC title Saturday night, and the
Tigers' have made 17 straight appearance at the NCAA
Championships.
