Southwestern's Foster Named Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association has named Southwestern University's Kaitlyn Foster Player of the Week for the sixth week of competition. Complete Release

Foster led the Pirates to a 4-0 week as Southwestern dropped just one set. The outside hitter posted 62 kills and just three errors on 142 attempts for an astonishing .415 attack percentage. Foster averaged 4.77 kills per set in 13 sets and 4.69 digs per set to send the week with a team high 61 digs. She also had two blocks, three assists and one ace. 

This is the first time in program history a Southwestern University student-athlete has garnered Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week honors. It is the first national POTW award for a SCAC women's volleyball student-athlete since Jessica Fleming of Austin College was honored on Week 9 of the 2011 season.

Foster was also named the Offensive Player of the Week by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
