TORI VAN
WYEN OF OGLETHORPE
UNIVERSITY, a sophomore on the
women's golf team from Grayson, Ga., has been selected
the SCAC Character & Community Female
Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending November 27,
2011.
Van Wyen recorded the highest finish of any
Oglethorpe golfer in all four of her fall events. In addition to
her outstanding play on the links, Van Wyen is
also an active member of the Oglethorpe community. She serves as
co-chairperson for the Oglethorpe Student Advisory Committee known
as the Petrel Council.
When she’s not knocking down putts or advising her classmates
in council meetings, Van Wyen volunteers for the
Petrel Sports Network, Oglethorpe’s audio and video provider
of home contests. For the past two years Tori has served as the
play-by-play broadcaster for men’s and women’s soccer
games as well as women’s basketball contests.
