PAUL ARCEMENT OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a senior on the Gents' baseball team, has been selected the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Character and Community Male Student Athlete of the Week for the week beginning March 21, 2015.

The SCAC honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics, and also serve their campus and community.

Arcement is a business and economics major at Centenary. Besides being a member of the Gents baseball team, the Shreveport-native is active in both the community and on campus. This past semester, Arcement volunteered at Common Ground, which provides a free meal every Thursday night while also distributing groceries to members of the community. The center also provides after school tutoring for students.

Arcement is also a member of the Student Advisory Committee at Centenary, who participate in many projects and take part in service week during the school year.

“Being from Shreveport, I am happy to stay involved with the local community,” said Arcement. “I try my best at all times to help out and give back, not only to the school, but to the Shreveport-Bossier. I want to be able to give back to the people who gave so much to me in my life.”

On the mound for his Centenary career, Arcement has made 35 appearances with 22 starts. He holds a 5-7 record and a 4.38 ERA in 108.2 innings pitched with 66 strikeouts.
