Anna Dunn, Centenary College, Softball

ANNA DUNN OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a senior on the Centenary softball team, has been selected the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Character and Community Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week beginning April 9, 2018.

The SCAC honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics, and also serve their campus and community.

Dunn, a psychology major at Centenary, is very active in her local Shreveport community. Dunn volunteers her time with 10-12 year-old girls as a softball coach and helping with the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. This past year, Dunn and the rest of the softball team assisted by planting trees at the local Shreveport Green.

Dunn has assisted at the Goldman School, an institution for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and also at the Glen Retirement Facility in Shreveport.

On the field, Dunn is currently leading the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and is sixth in the nation with nine home runs. With 10 RBI’s in the double header at LeTourneau in two games on Wednesday afternoon, April 11, Dunn moved up to second in the SCAC and 15th in the nation in RBIs.
