HOUSTON, Texas - The University of Dallas women's soccer team won their conference matchup with the University of St. Thomas 1-0 on Friday. They improve to 4-5-2 on the year and are 3-2-2 in conference.
The Celts had the lion's share of chances in the game, but the Crusaders were able to make it count. With the defense tightening things up and Briana Salinas having another stellar night between the sticks, the match seemed destined for a stalemate as Dallas struggled to put the finishing touches on their offensive moves.
Claire Reed changed that in the 87th minute with her team-leading third goal of the season, putting Dallas up 1-0 and ultimately giving them the win.
With this win, Dallas currently occupies the fourth and final postseason spot, sitting just above Schreiner who has two games in hand. Seven conference matches remain on the schedule.
