Colorado College advanced to the championship game of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's lacrosse tournament with a dominating 22-1 victory over Johnson & Wales University on Saturday at Washburn Field.

The 19th ranked Tigers, who set the program's single-season record with victory No. 16, faces Southwestern University in Sunday's championship game at noon MT. The Pirates advanced with a 20-9 win over the University of Dallas in the second game of the day.

CC collected goals from 17 different players, including a pair from senior attacker Eva King, junior attacker Allie Thuet, sophomore midfielder Avery Bell, freshman attacker Bella Beattie and freshman defender Avery Newton.

Freshman attacker Maggie O'Donnell scored once and tied her season high of five assists, while King dished out three assists to complete her five-point day.  

King improved her season point total to 86, which ranks fifth on Colorado College's all-time list and second in conference history.

With her team-leading six points, all of which occurred during the opening 16:23 of the game, O'Donnell increased her season total to 71 and climbed seven spots on the program's single-season chart to 11th.

Freshman Abigail Turner scored her first career goal on a free-position shot with nine minutes remaining in the game.

As a team, the Tigers reached the 20-goal mark for the fourth time this season and increased their scoring average to 17 goals per game.

It also marked the fourth time this season CC held an opponent to fewer than five goals in a contest.

Thuet led Colorado College's defensive effort with two caused turnovers and a pair of ground balls.

Bell and Maggie Shields led the Tigers with three ground balls apiece, while Lauren Pejza picked up a game-high five draw controls.

CC won 20 of 24 draw controls and built an 18-10 edge in ground balls.

The additional possessions resulted in a 32-5 advantage in total shots.

The Tigers led 17-0 before Madisyn Tulenchik put the Wildcats on the board when she converted on a free-position shot with 20:17 remaining in the game. JWU's freshman midfielder finished the year with a team-record 28 goals.

In the second semifinal, Southwestern snapped a 3-3 deadlock with 14 consecutive goals to take control of the game.

The Pirates led 20-4 before UD scored the final five goals of the contest.

Hayley Donnelly scored twice and dished out five assists for Southwestern, which improved to 7-5.

Johnee Wolter notched five goals and added an assist for the Pirates.

Erika Keever and Emily Pauletti struck for three goals apiece for Dallas, which finished the season with a 3-10 mark.
