ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Austin College men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 match at Ouachita Baptist on Wednesday, bringing the 'Roos to 2-5-1 overall on the season.
Austin College controlled possession and was the aggressor throughout the match, but the 'Roos were unable to break through on the scoreboard despite holding a 16-to-9 edge in shots. The 'Roos put five attempts on goal, but Ouachita goalkeeper Dillon Staal turned each chance away to keep Austin College off the board.
After playing a scoreless first half, Ouachita managed to earn a penalty kick opportunity in the 50th minute, and Joao Goncalves put his attempt home to make it a 1-0 game. Austin College had several chances down the stretch, but couldn't find the equalizer. Jayson Baldwin made four saves in goal for Austin College in defeat.
