SANDESTIN, Fla. – The Golfweek October Classic wrapped up its third round of action today at the Raven Golf Club, and the 19th-ranked Tiger men's golf team finished 25th at the event.
Trinity shot a three-day total score of 915 (303-312-300), finishing with its best round of the week by carding a combined score of 300 on Tuesday.
Junior
Jacob Mason (Westminster, Colo. / Holy Family) led the Tigers overall at the tournament, finishing with a three-day score of 224 (75-74-75) and carding seven total birdies.
Sophomore
Carter Code (Calgary, Canada / Manning) and senior
Jack McKay (Spring, Texas / Klein Oak) both shot 229 over the 54-hole tournament. Code shot 77-75-77 over the three days, picking up three birdies to post his best score yesterday. McKay opened with Trinity's only under-par score of the tournament with a first-round 70 during which he had five birdies. He shot 82 on Monday and 77 today and tied Mason for the team lead with seven total birdies this week.
Senior
Giorgio Gianoulis (Salt Lake City, Utah / Rowland Hall) had the team's best score today with his two-over 73, carding three birdies and finishing with a total score of 235 (81-81-73). Sophomore
Neel Sandhu (Southlake, Texas / Carroll) also enjoyed his best day of the week and matched his teammate with three birdies, finishing with a 244 (84-85-75) that included today's four-over 75.
Trinity's fall season comes to an end with the end of the Golfweek Classic, and the Tigers will return to competition in the spring.
