The Colorado College women's cross country posted its best result ever at the season-opening UCCS Rust Buster Meet with a second-place Saturday in Monument Valley Park.
The Tigers collected seventh through 10
th place individually at the meet, led by junior
Alison Mueller-Hickler in seventh with a time of 18 minutes, 13.30 seconds. Her finish is the best by a Tiger at the meet since Allysa Warling placed fifth in 2018.
Seniors
Isabel Olson (18:14.60),
Sydney Rankin (18:18.30) and
Elliot Singer (18:23.80) finished eighth, ninth and 10
th, respectively, while fellow senior
Britt Helgaas rounded out the scoring in 17
th place with a time of 18:48.00.
"We had an extremely impressive opening meet," head coach
Alex Nichols said. "They ran smart and moved up through the field with a controlled effort. It will be very fun to see how they do with some bigger meets and harder efforts later in the season."
