
GEORGETOWN, Texas - Southwestern won its third consecutive match, as the Pirates posted a 9-0 victory over Howard Payne Friday night at the Marvin D. Henderson Sr. Tennis Courts.
Southwestern (3-1) was led by David Strong, who picked up two wins in the contest. Strong teamed up with Dean Dulthommon for an 8-1 triumph at No. 3 doubles. He then earned a 6-0, 6-0 win over Noah Marlin at the fifth singles spot.
The Pirates dropped only five games in singles competition.
Alonso Fernandez and Jeremy Wilson also won without giving up a game, as both posted 6-0, 6-0 victories at Nos. 3 and 6 singles, respectively.
Southwestern will return to action on Wednesday, March 8, against Concordia Texas. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m.
