PORTLAND, Ore. – The Trinity University men's and women's cross country teams both finished in eighth place at the NCAA West Regional Championships on Saturday.
The Tiger teams both scored 227 total points in their respective meets and both finished in the top 10 for the third straight year. The finish is the best since 2021 for Trinity's women's team and the 14th straight time the team has finished in the top 10 at the regional meet. The Tiger men have been eighth three straight times after spending two years outside of the top 10.
Senior
Will Salony (Dallas, Texas / JJ Pearce) finished 11th with his time of 24:32.0 in today's race, which makes him an All-Region runner for the third straight season. Salony is also expected to be officially named as a qualifier for the NCAA Championships meet tomorrow, which would be his third time competing at cross country nationals.
The Tiger women had two runners earn All-Region recognition for the first time in their careers.
Gianna Keena (Lakeway, Texas / Lake Travis) led the women with a time of 22:05.1 that was good for 30th place and shattered her previous personal best time that she established just two weeks ago at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. First-year
