SAN ANTONIO - The Tiger Cross Country Teams dominated the Trinity/TLU dual meet at Olmos Basin Park. 
 
The gun sounded for the men just as the morning sun hit the horizon, and you could hear the rumble of feet on the ground as the runners took off. Junior Jackson White (Boerne, Texas / Boerne) was the first Tiger to cross the finish line with a time of 15:50.1 for the 5k. Right behind him were teammates Ben Kim (Austin, Texas / Anderson) and Walt Petersen (Winston-Salem, North Carolina / Reynolds) with times of 16:17.9 and 16:33.5. The first bulldog did not cross the finish line until after those three runners. As the race came to an end, it was clear the Tigers were going to take the meet. The Tigers won the dual by a score of 17-45. The Tigers had eight of the top ten runners. 
 
Next, it was time for the women to show what they got. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, it was more dominance for the Tigers. These Tiger women are determined to get into the NCAA III Top 25 rankings, as they have been receiving votes. First-year Annette Smith (Houston, Texas / Ridge Point) would cross the finish line first for the Tigers with a time of 20:05.9 and junior Ellie Herrick (Corpus Christi, Texas / Tuloso Midway) was right behind her with a time of 20:07.2. The Tigers would finish off the dual with a score of 16-43 in favor of the Tigers. 

"Both teams ran well today," said Head Coach Emily Daum. "The conditions were not ideal, but they powered through. We had completely new scorers this meet and it really gave us a chance to showcase our depth."

The Tiger Cross Country Teams will take their first trip outside of Loop 1604 when they take a trip to Pennsylvania to compete in Lehigh University's Paul Short Invitational on Saturday, September 30th.
