HOUSTON – The McMurry men's swim team won the St. Thomas Fall Splash Meet on Saturday and the women's team placed second.
The War Hawks won eight events on Saturday to go with four on Friday to complete a successful weekend.
Maddy Rohrer won the 200 freestyle in 2:05.14 and the 100 free in 57.24, giving her four freestyle wins for the weekend. She won the 500 free in 5:36.41 and the 200 free in 2:06.27 on Friday.
Wes Scalf won two individual events and was on two winning relay teams to lead the War Hawk men on Saturday. Scalf joined
Victor Zambrano,
Caden Motheral and
Harrison Brown on the winning 200 medley relay team at 1:43.49.
Kristopher Cantu, Scalf, Mongtomery Cortez and Brown were on the winning 400 free relay at 3:28.61.
Scalf won the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.80 and the 100 freestyle in 49.88. He also won the 50 freestyle on Friday in 49.18 seconds.
Zambrano captured the 100 backstroke in 1:02.03.
Elijah Trevino repeated his one-meter diving win on Saturday, this time with a score of 187.80. He won the vent on Friday with a 192.6.
Next up for the War Hawks are a pair of home duals against Ozarks on Nov. 8-9.
