WHITNEY – Both McMurry golf teams placed sixth in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Preview at the White Bluff Golf Resort.
The men placed sixth in the team standings with a second round of 320 after shooting 305 on Monday. The women had a round of 385 after shooting 380 on Monday.
Tripten Roberts placed 11
th to lead the War Hawks, shooting a 75 on Tuesday to go with a 77 from the first round. He had birdies Tuesday on holes 7 and 16 to bring his total to six for the tournament.
Cullen Timms shot an 85 on Tuesday after a blazing 69 on Monday and finished in 17
th at 154. He birdied hole 1 on Tuesday. Timms had eight birdies for the tournament.
Chase Allison shot 80 on Tuesday and
Owen Morris came in at 81 leaving the teammates tied for 36
th at 161. Allison had three birdies on Tuesday on holes 1, 6 and 11. Morris had birdies on holes 7, 8 and 10. Allison finished with seven birdies and had four.
Kendrick Hoster ended up in 41
st after rounds of 79 and 84. He had six birdies for the tournament.
Kaitlyn Neel tied for 23
rd to lead the War Hawk women's team. Neel shot 99 after a first-round 88 to finish at 187.
Kenlee Turner shot 95 on Tuesday with a birdie on the 11
th hole. Turner had rounds of 96 and 95 for 191 and 28
th place.
Raelynn Leifeste dropped 10 strokes off her Monday score for a 91 and a 192 for the tournament. She placed 30
th. Leifeste had a birdie on the third hole.
Karen Santos went 95-100 for 195 and 33
rd place. She had birdies on holes 5 and 15.
The McMurry men next compete at the UMHB Fall Invitational next week.
The War Hawk women are next at the UMHB Legends Cup Sept. 30-Oct. 1.
